Dear Dear Cavalier

Compassion is the measure of a man
It’s my little brother’s 18th at the end of the month. Yeah, that cute one in the trolley. The one I used to tow around while I took care of the chooks and the cows, watered the gardens and made epic cubby houses. He’s all grown up; slightly less cute and doesn’t fit in trolleys any more, but he’s still my little bro.

Happy 90th Birthday to the incredible Sir Christopher Frank Carandini Lee. A true fan of J.R.R Tolkien’s work, he is the only member of the cast to have actually met and spoken to the professor, and to have his blessing to star (albeit as Gandalf) in a film adaptation. He gave the role of Saruman the perfect intensity, and had the commanding, powerful voice that haunts us still.

Smiling

Walking around the house at 11:30 at night, smiling. My essay is done and my prose is done and I’m happy with both. I got up and made myself a cup of tea and a hot water bottle so that I could snuggle back down in bed and chat to my bf and watch the Supernatural finale. All the time knowing that my 6am alarm is set so that I can be out in the wind and in show ring by 8:30. But it’s okay, because my ringtone is the tequila song, which means that no matter how early I have to get up, I’ll always be in a good mood.

Not to mention, there is a ladybug / lady-beetle / ladybird wandering across my computer screen. Which is also cool.
